Security Engineering Senior Intern

About the role

HCSC offers a ten-week paid internship in Security Engineering, based in Richardson, TX. The intern works closely with cross-functional business and technical teams, contributing to project work and helping develop solutions that meet organizational needs. The role requires learning the organization's processes, programs and technologies while taking increasing ownership of deliverables under the guidance of a mentor and manager.

Key responsibilities

• Own parts of project work and deliverables with mentor and manager guidance.
• Research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations that inform business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience.
• Deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results and recommendations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity and applicable compliance policies.

Required profile

• Pursuing a master's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, information security or information technology; other related fields with comparable experience may be considered.
• Graduation between December 2027 and June 2028, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available for the full 10-week program and unrestricted work authorization in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

Required skills

• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Interest in the healthcare industry and regulated environments.
• PC skills, especially Excel, Word and Access.
• Programming/systems analysis, application design and application configuration are strong pluses.
