Security Engineer, Network Security

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a dedicated Security Engineer to own end‑to‑end network security across its corporate enterprise, on‑premise data centers, AWS cloud, and autonomous vessel communications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to protect critical maritime operations in challenging, bandwidth‑limited environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewalls, segmentation, micro‑segmentation, wireless, DNS, VPN/ZTNA, and device hardening across multiple sites.
• Drive the transition to zero‑trust access and retire legacy flat‑network and VPN solutions.
• Architect secure AWS network environments, including VPC segmentation, private connectivity, and egress controls.
• Secure vessel communications (LTE/5G, RF, SATCOM, mesh, line‑of‑sight) and manage cryptography and key management for platform data in transit and at rest.
• Increase network observability through flow logs, telemetry, and monitoring; support the build‑out of a Network Operations Center (NOC).
• Automate network security policies as code and validate configurations continuously.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on enterprise network security experience or equivalent demonstrated ability.
• Proven track record designing, operating, and troubleshooting firewalls and segmentation solutions.
• Experience securing cloud environments, preferably AWS, and implementing zero‑trust architectures.
• Strong analytical skills to address constrained, contested maritime communication links.
