Security Architecture Manager

About the role

Protiviti is hiring a Security Architecture Manager for its Cybersecurity Program & Strategy – Architecture practice, based in New York City with additional locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The role works with Fortune 500 clients across financial services, healthcare, energy, technology and manufacturing to design security architectures that integrate identity, data, network, workload, application and AI, and to guide adoption of AI-driven security risks.

Key responsibilities

• Design enterprise security architectures across cloud, identity, data, network (zero trust, SASE/SSE), application and, where relevant, OT/IoT domains.
• Help clients navigate the impact of AI on security, including governance and risks from LLMs and agentic systems.
• Translate architecture into roadmaps mapped to NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, CRI Profile, CMMC and industry regimes, defended before executives.
• Run engagement teams of consultants and senior consultants, coaching them and mentoring future architects.
• Contribute to reference architectures, accelerators and thought leadership, and help win work with directors and managing directors.
• In year one: lead the security architecture workstream on 2-4 multi-quarter engagements, deliver at least one reusable reference architecture or accelerator, contribute to a published point of view, and develop one consultant into a stronger architect.

Required profile

• 5+ years in security architecture, security engineering, security consulting or a closely related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience; 5+ years in professional services or industry.
• Team leadership experience: coaching, performance development and delivery quality oversight.
• Preferred: regulated industry vertical experience, published research or conference talks, and advanced credentials such as CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, TOGAF, AWS/Azure Security Specialty, GIAC GDSA/GCSA.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience designing security solutions in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and across identity, data protection, network security and application security.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and at least one of CRI Profile, CMMC or an industry regime.
• Preferred: depth in two or more cloud platforms, zero trust rollouts, infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code (Terraform, OPA), and tooling such as Wiz, Prisma, Defender for Cloud, Okta/Entra, ServiceNow GRC and Archer.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
