Seasonal Physical Therapist – Emergency Department

About the role

This seasonal position (October – April) offers a Physical Therapist the chance to work in the Emergency Department of Vail Health Hospital while enjoying the winter atmosphere of Beaver Creek, Colorado. You will deliver rehabilitative care to a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, within a high‑volume orthopedic setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients using appropriate tests and measurements to determine therapy needs and discharge plans.
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy interventions based on evaluations, physician orders, and patient goals.
• Perform safe and effective PT techniques, document progress, and submit daily billing.
• Communicate patient status and care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Recommend and facilitate acquisition of necessary patient care equipment prior to discharge.
• Participate in PT/PTA student training and educate patients/families on home programs.

Required profile

• Current Colorado Physical Therapist license or valid PT Compact Privilege.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced emergency department environment.
