Scientific Writer

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC seeks a full‑time Scientific Writer to translate scientific data into clear written and oral content for diverse audiences. You will support principal investigators in preparing grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain grant application templates and ensure compliance with submission requirements.
• Edit, proofread, and format scientific documents, proposals, and presentations for clarity and consistency.
• Communicate with investigators and senior leadership to verify accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Track publication queries, manage copyright transfers, conflict‑of‑interest statements, and other publisher requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Minimum two years of experience in scientific writing or related editing work.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork orientation, and clear written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
