Science Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join the Buffalo public school system. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and assess science instruction for students, fostering a supportive learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that meet curriculum standards.
• Develop and communicate clear learning objectives for each lesson.
• Utilize a variety of instructional resources and technology to support diverse student needs.
• Assess student performance, assign and grade work, and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare required reports.
• Manage classroom behavior, enforce school policies, and promote a safe learning environment.
• Participate in department, school, and district meetings, as well as professional development activities.
• Stay current with developments in the science field and incorporate best practices into instruction.

Required profile

• Valid New York State or Buffalo certification in the relevant science teaching area.
• Proof of certification must be attached as a PDF or screenshot.
• Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the City of Buffalo.
