Sanitation Supervisor

About the role

Champion Foods, a pizza manufacturer, is looking for a Sanitation Supervisor to lead its sanitation team and enforce food safety and hygiene policies. The supervisor ensures the team follows sanitation standard operating procedures to keep manufacturing equipment clean, keeps detailed records of sanitation activities and maintains an inventory of cleaning tools.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the sanitation team in safe working practices, including chemical handling, PPE and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure proper completion of equipment sanitation and efficient startups, based on knowledge of the manufacturing process and equipment design.
• Solve problems with other departments cooperatively and establish standards and procedures for staff, leading by example.
• Help organize staff participation in departmental training programs and maintain records and daily logs.
• Prepare periodic activity reports, verify the Master Sanitation Schedule and hold accountability for departmental stock and inventory.
• Inventories supplies, requisitions and distributes them, places orders and keeps supply rooms neat and stocked.
• Inspect facilities, submit reports with recommendations for corrective action and perform floor sanitation tasks as needed.
• Available 24/7 for business emergencies and willing to take on other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Clear, professional communication and teamwork with respect and flexibility.
• Proactive, self-starting, focused on continuous improvement and on training team members.
• Physical ability: standing, lifting up to 55 pounds occasionally, working in temperatures from 0F to 90F, moderate noise and unpleasant odors.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning methods in a food manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of OSHA requirements and chemical handling.
