Production Associate (Day Shift)

About the role

Champion Foods, a pizza producer owned by Ilitch, is hiring a Production Associate for its bakery in Gaffney, South Carolina. The associate takes part in producing items at the bakery and is trained to operate the various stations along the production line. The bakery is described as a 144,000-square-foot facility with modern food production technology.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general inspections, refill ingredients and packaging supplies as directed, and carry out other duties assigned during production.
• Follow safety, operation, quality and sanitation procedures for equipment at the workstation.
• Ensure quality control in the area of responsibility, including proper assembly, storage, tracking and handling of materials.
• Monitor product quality standards and report defects to the line lead or supervisor.
• Keep tools, equipment and the work area clean and sanitary, and comply with food safety and legal requirements.
• Meet operational throughput standards and quality requirements, and work as a team with attention to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing environment and potentially high noise levels and abnormal temperatures in the freezer and baking areas.
