Safety Coordinator – Acid Operations

About the role

We are hiring a Safety Coordinator to support acid operations at the FMI Morenci In‑pit Mine. The role ensures a safe, accident‑free environment while complying with MSHA, FMCSA and other regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist drivers with safety needs, monitor behavior and conduct safety events.
• Oversee safety inspections, observations and reporting for the Morenci In‑Pit project.
• Communicate incidents and enforce safety protocols with the Acid & Quality Management Supervisor.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on tractor‑trailer units and maintain vehicle documentation.
• Participate in accident investigations, write detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license; Class A Commercial Driver License preferred.
• No more than two moving violations in the past three years and no major violations in the past five years.
• Minimum two years of experience in environmental and safety compliance (DOT, MSHA, OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, PHMSA).
• Ability to travel up to 60 % of the time and work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Clean‑shaven daily to meet respirator requirements and pass a pre‑employment controlled‑substance test.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Class A Commercial Driver License (preferred).
