Russian-Speaking Home Care Aide

About the role

IOA is looking for Russian-speaking Home Care Aides to support older adults, including Holocaust survivors and their families, through Jewish Family Services in Santa Clara. The role provides daily personal care and companionship so that elders can stay safe, comfortable and as independent as possible in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility assistance.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and families.
• Help clients remain safe, comfortable and as independent as possible in their homes.
• Communicate with supervisors about client needs and changes in condition.
• Participate in training and follow all safety, health and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Previous caregiving or home care aide experience is required.
• Compassion and respect: a genuine interest in supporting older adults with dignity and patience.
• Reliability: able to manage time well, follow care plans and show up consistently for scheduled shifts.
• Must pass background clearance (Live Scan), TB test and health screening.
• Physical ability to lift 35 lbs or more with proper body mechanics, and to lift, transfer, push/pull, reach, bend, walk, maneuver and reposition.
