Roofing Inspector (SRI)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Commercial Roofing Inspector to review roofing applications, perform inspections, and enforce compliance with the Florida Building Code. The role involves interaction with owners, building officials, and designers to ensure all roofing work meets regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review roofing applications for code compliance and conduct on‑site inspections.
• Document daily construction activities and interface with owners, building officials, and designers.
• Reject incomplete or unsatisfactory submittals and enforce project requirements.
• Conduct inspections of foundations, alterations, repairs, and building systems to verify compliance with the Florida Building Code and local amendments.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the construction field.
• Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and experience in building plan review or inspection.
• State of Florida Commercial Roofing Inspector License (SRI) – required.
• State of Florida Standard Inspector License (BN) – required.
• Additional licenses such as Plans Examiner (PX), Registered Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (PE), or General Contractor (GC) are a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information from manuals, drawings, specifications, layouts, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong oral communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with the Florida Building Code and related local amendments.
