RN Surgery – Gynecology/Urology Operating Room

About the role

The Registered Nurse will work in the Gynecology/Urology Operating Room at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing peri‑operative care for adult and pediatric patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care before, during, and after surgery, including patient preparation, intra‑operative monitoring, and post‑operative recovery.
• Perform scrub functions such as selecting, handling, and passing instruments, and circulating duties like documenting patient status and managing overall nursing care.
• Assist the surgeon with tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment for each case.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current state RN licensure.
• Minimum one year of RN experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic peri‑operative residency.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and handle equipment as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in peri‑operative nursing practices.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique.
• Ability to perform BLS and ACLS procedures.
