RN Supervisor – Observation – Night Shift – Sign‑on Bonus

About the role

The RN Supervisor – Observation provides direct patient care while leading a team of nurses and technicians on the OMC unit at Jeff Hwy. This full‑time night position includes a sign‑on bonus and focuses on high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Administer medications, start IVs, and coordinate patient discharges with the healthcare team.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned staff nurses and patient care technicians.
• Promote nursing protocols, manage unit staffing and supplies, and resolve conflicts during shifts.
• Collaborate with quality, safety, and patient experience leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required for Ochsner Magnet facilities.
• At least 1 year of RN experience (or 2 years as an LPN in acute care) and current state RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medication administration and IV initiation.
