RN Supervisor – Nights in Acute Care

About the role

Citizens Health seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse to serve as a night shift supervisor at Citizens Medical Center, a 25‑bed critical access hospital in Colby, KS. The RN Supervisor will lead nursing staff, ensure high‑quality patient care, and coordinate with managers and ancillary departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all nursing personnel during night shifts across medical/surgical, obstetrics, and emergency units.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and evaluate patient care, perform unit rounds with providers, and communicate status changes to families and staff.
• Lead emergency preparedness efforts, acting as Incident Commander until the response team arrives.
• Support staff development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Required profile

• Current RN license from the Kansas Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification; TNCC, PALS, NRP, and ACLS preferred (assistance provided for certification).
• Prior supervisory experience, preferably in obstetrics or emergency settings.
• Proficiency with office productivity software and EMR documentation.

Required skills

• BLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP, ACLS certifications.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Proficiency in email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
