RN Stroke Coordinator

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated RN Stroke Coordinator to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on improving clinical quality, supporting accreditation processes, and driving performance improvement initiatives for stroke care. You will work closely with department managers, committees, and staff to analyze data and resolve quality issues.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct report analysis on occurrences, outcomes, and other quality indicators.
• Participate in organization committees and councils, providing data analysis and direction for performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide education related to performance improvement, clinical patient safety, and statistical analysis.
• Act as a resource for regulatory requirements, including conducting Joint Commission mock surveys and maintaining readiness.
• Participate in risk management by identifying, trending, and following up on clinical issues.
• Adapt communication and behavior to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of professional nursing experience in an acute care setting; 5 years preferred.
• Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards, quality management, and continuous quality improvement.
