RN – Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Children’s Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is a 9‑bed unit that provides specialized care for children with seizure disorders, post‑surgical seizure focus removals, and medication adjustments. This part‑time RN position works two 12‑hour shifts per week (7:00 am–7:30 pm) and may include weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, and update patient care plans while documenting patients’ conditions.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate discharge planning.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• At least one year of acute care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and monitoring of pediatric patients.
• Medication administration and documentation.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
