About the role

This role leads patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards. The RN will delegate, direct, and assist team members, ensure quality outcomes, and support Ochsner’s nursing philosophy.

Key responsibilities

Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Uses data and evidence to evaluate and promote changes that achieve optimal outcomes.
Embraces concepts that enhance patient satisfaction, employee morale, and the nursing profession.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school (RN license required in the state of practice).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
No prior work experience required; new graduate position.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and certification in a clinical specialty area.
