About the role

Join Ochsner Health as a Registered Nurse on the Medical‑Surgical unit working night shifts. You will lead patient care using the nursing process within the framework of professional standards and contribute to the unit’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote changes for optimal outcomes.
• Adapt behavior to respect patient privacy, cultural diversity, and individual preferences.
• Perform additional related duties as required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
