RN – Emergency Department Observation (Night Shift)

About the role

The Emergency Department Observation unit provides patients with extended evaluation and treatment beyond the typical ED stay. As a Registered Nurse you will deliver compassionate care during night shifts, supporting patients through diagnostics, consultations, and treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the 23‑hour observation unit, including assessments, medication administration, and coordination of diagnostics.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records and communicate changes to the care team.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and success coaches to ensure timely interventions.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program with current state RN licensure.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.
• Ability to work nights (7 pm‑7:30 am) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) – pediatric.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within one year of hire).
