RN – Cardiovascular Surgical Stepdown

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care on the Cardiovascular Surgical Stepdown unit. This role involves implementing patient care plans, monitoring conditions, and coordinating multidisciplinary care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, documenting condition and effectiveness of interventions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing protocols.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education, addressing cultural and special concerns.
• Serve as primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for critical care areas.
• Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment, stand and walk for extended periods, and handle physical demands of patient care.
