About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a Retirement Counselor to provide counseling and benefits analysis for its members. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will help individuals navigate retirement and disability benefits, contributing to the well‑being of Georgia’s citizens.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver retirement and/or disability counseling to members.
- Perform benefits analysis and explain options to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and benefit determinations.
- Collaborate with other state agencies to ensure consistent service delivery.
Required profile
- Ability to work under general supervision while providing accurate counseling.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex benefit information.
- Interest or experience in retirement and disability benefit programs.
