Retail Car Sales Manager

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring a Retail Car Sales Manager in Vista, California, who reports to the General Manager of the location. The role handles and coordinates documentation and title administrative tasks for all retail transactions, supporting the retail sales team across North America. It requires knowledge of car sales documentation, deal structuring and penciling, tag/title work, and strict adherence to local, state and federal compliance policies.

Key responsibilities

• Help the store consistently and profitably meet used vehicle sales quotas through management, deal working and team leadership.
• Train the sales team on sales methodologies, F&I processes, and vehicle specifications and features.
• Coordinate sales completion, title and registration paperwork, and load and execute documentation for retail transactions, including e-signing and e-contracting.
• Verify deal structures against bank approval guidelines, confirm proof of insurance and trade payoffs, and handle deposits and trade titles per company policy.
• Audit deal jackets, validate documents (VIN, mileage, odometer, signatures) and complete F&I paperwork accurately and on time.
• Ensure timely funding of contracts, reconcile fundings and account for all money received, then process title and registration applications and monitor delivery of titles and plates.
• Respond to customer questions on paperwork, titles and registrations, coordinate with customers, VAB and tag agencies, and ensure compliance with state and local laws and sales tax reporting.
• Hold weekly calls with the shared service center, corporate office and third-party partners, track work, and comply with compliance policies such as OFAC, Red Flag, Risk Based Pricing Disclosure, FTC Safeguard Rules and Form 8300.
• Assist the store General Manager as needed and work with departments and managers to maximize sales volume.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• At least 3 years combined in car sales management and Finance & Insurance (F&I).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organization skills, able to multitask, meet deadlines and work with or manage a team.

Required skills

• PC skills, including V-Auto, VinSolutions, Dealertrack DMS, F&I, Darwin and other finance programs.
• Retail Car Sales Title Clerk experience preferred.

The annual starting salary is between $85,000 and $123,000, depending on geography, market, skills, education and experience.
