Respiratory Therapist – Full Time – Jeff Hwy

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, including oxygen therapy, artificial ventilation, and intermittent therapy.
• Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs.
• Assist with changing artificial airways and deliver care as ordered by physicians.
• Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Document clinical information and maintain up‑to‑date certifications.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy.
• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data entry.
• Knowledge of arterial blood gas analysis.
• Ventilation support and oxygen therapy techniques.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) procedures.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU work.
