Research Technician II – Chakraborty Lab

About the role

The Chakraborty Lab at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus studies chromatin biology and dioxygenase enzymes linked to kidney cancer and hypoxic tumors. As a Research Technician II you will support experimental studies, manage laboratory analyses, and help translate findings into publications and grant proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for assigned experimental studies.
• Schedule, conduct, and document a variety of analyses using specialized equipment.
• Prepare reagents, purify chemicals (chromatography, distillation) and handle mouse colonies.
• Identify, separate, and quantify substances; generate data visualizations and statistical tables for review.
• Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining laboratory inventory.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years lab experience, or Associate’s degree with 1 year experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Comfortable handling and caring for a research mouse colony and experienced in genotyping.
• Physical ability to work stationary for extended periods, lift up to 20 lb, and follow safety protocols.

Required skills

• Chromatography and distillation techniques for reagent preparation.
• Operation of laboratory instrumentation and data analysis software for charts, graphs, and statistical tables.
• Mouse colony management and genotyping procedures.
