Research Support Manager – Infectious Diseases

About the role

The University of Miami's Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a full‑time Manager, Research Support to provide program and operational support for research activities on the UHealth campus. The role ensures research projects run efficiently, comply with regulations, and contribute to high‑impact scientific outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide program support and oversee day‑to‑day research operations.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain research data and databases.
• Interpret research protocols and ensure best‑practice compliance.
• Mentor junior research staff and students, offering guidance and oversight.
• Coordinate meetings with internal teams, external agencies, and partners.
• Resolve operational issues and deliver technical program support.
• Assist in manuscript preparation and other program‑related documentation.
• Stay current on developments affecting the department and uphold university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum three years of relevant research support or operational experience.
• Experience leading research interventions such as Project ACCESS.
• Ability to provide technical assistance for HIV and HCV rapid testing and develop related trainings.
• Strong operational management, organizational development, and financial oversight skills.
• Proven team‑leadership and collaborative communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
