Research Nurse Coordinator – Rheumatology

About the role

The Research Nurse Coordinator in Rheumatology will support innovative clinical research by managing human subject studies from start‑up through completion. The role ensures participant safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate data collection while collaborating with physicians, sponsors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation and conduct of rheumatology research projects, ensuring protocol adherence and timely completion.
• Prepare and communicate regulatory documents, report Serious Adverse Events, and complete FDA and sponsor forms.
• Serve as liaison between investigators, research personnel, sponsors, and central administration.
• Perform nursing assessments, document findings, and notify physicians of abnormal results.
• Recruit participants, obtain informed consent, collect and process specimens for the biorepository.
• Administer study‑related injections, infusions, and medications as ordered.
• Maintain regulatory documentation, support audit preparation, and ensure compliance with federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum four years of clinical nursing experience, including at least two years in research.
• Understanding of research processes, terminology, and specialty under investigation.
• Working knowledge of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
