Research Associate (I/II/III)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking qualified Research Associates at levels I, II, and III to support biochemistry and molecular research initiatives within the COM Biochemistry & Molecular Koss Department. This position contributes to cutting‑edge scientific projects aimed at improving patient care and advancing medical knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and document laboratory experiments in biochemistry and molecular biology.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical methods.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and inventory to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts for internal and external dissemination.
• Collaborate with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and other research staff to achieve project goals.
• Assist in training and mentoring undergraduate or graduate students as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in a research laboratory setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and safety protocols.
