Research Associate 2 – Physiology & Biophysics Lab

About the role

The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Miami seeks a full‑time Research Associate 2 to conduct fluorescent immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and transcriptomics data analysis in a collaborative laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized experiments including cryosectioning, fluorescent antibody staining, and imaging with wide‑field and confocal microscopes.
• Manage a small colony of transgenic mouse strains: design breeding schedules, genotype, and maintain pedigree records.
• Analyze existing transcriptomics data using R and assist in gene‑expression studies.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, order reagents, and keep detailed electronic and paper records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Minimum two years of laboratory research experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with a research team.
