About the role
The Research Assistant will work directly with faculty in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences to support a federally funded study of mothers and their families. The position involves participant recruitment, data collection, and data management, with opportunities to learn statistical analysis and scientific writing.
Key responsibilities
- Recruit and schedule families for laboratory visits, including in‑person and remote methods.
- Train, supervise, and coordinate undergraduate research assistants.
- Conduct laboratory sessions, collect behavioral, psychophysiological, and survey data.
- Maintain participant contact for longitudinal follow‑ups and manage data coding, entry, and storage.
- Assist the Primary Investigator with administrative duties and data set construction for analysis.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Human Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of experience with human‑subject research, preferably involving children and families.
- Ability to lift and move medium‑weight objects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
Required skills
- Experience with psychophysiology data collection and analysis.
- Fluency in Spanish.
