Remote Nurse Practitioner – GLP-1 Prescriber (Independent Contractor)

About the role

Berry Street is expanding its GLP-1 prescribing program and seeks experienced Nurse Practitioners to join a fully remote, independent‑contractor network. You will evaluate patients via telehealth, prescribe and titrate FDA‑approved GLP‑1 medications for weight management, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct synchronous telehealth evaluations for new GLP‑1 patients, assessing eligibility, comorbidities, contraindications, and treatment goals.
• Prescribe and titrate GLP‑1 agents (e.g., Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro) using your independent prescriptive authority.
• Manage follow‑up visits, dose adjustments, side‑effect counseling, and lab review through a mix of live visits and asynchronous chart review.
• Review Registered Dietitian care summaries before prescribing and incorporate lifestyle modification history into documentation.
• Sign Letters of Medical Necessity for prior authorizations and respond to appeal requests within required timeframes.
• Participate in Medical Director‑led clinical reviews, protocol updates, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain active licensure, malpractice coverage, and payer credentialing across contracted states.
• Engage in periodic chart audits and quality reviews.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license with current ANCC or AANP board certification.
• Full independent practice and prescriptive authority in every state where you are licensed and will see patients.
• Malpractice insurance and payer credentialing in contracted states.
• Ability to work remotely and manage a self‑directed schedule.
