Registered Nurse – Surgical Urology (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty to provide patient‑family centered care in the Surgical Urology unit. This full‑time position involves delivering culturally competent, evidence‑based nursing care while overseeing allied health staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, and provide psychological support.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff and assist with discharge planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license (and any additional certifications required by the department).

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
