About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to lead patient care on our surgical unit at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. The RN will use the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code and Scope & Standards of Practice, delegating and directing team members to achieve quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families and interdisciplinary teams.
Communicate, delegate and manage nursing team resources, acting as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Use data and evidence to evaluate and promote changes for optimal outcomes.
Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.
Demonstrate strong organizational and time‑management abilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
No prior work experience required.
