Registered Nurse – Surgery Circulator

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Surgery Circulator provides direct, comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients at Palestine Regional Medical Center. Working in a fast‑paced acute care environment, the RN ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the peri‑operative process.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient‑centered nursing care following established standards and the nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting all aspects of care accurately.
• Monitor, evaluate, and communicate patient condition to the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Coordinate with surgical and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient transfers, discharges, and referrals as needed.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post‑operative care.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients throughout their surgical experience.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current, valid RN license in Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required by facility policy).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision‑making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Competency with electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technologies.
• Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and HIPAA compliance.
