Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg – Full‑Time Nights

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Med Surg unit in Hellertown. This full‑time night‑shift position provides professional nursing care, patient assessment, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, ensuring safety and quality.
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to resolve patient needs.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course.
• Participate in performance improvement processes and evidence‑based practice projects.
• Teach, mentor, and precept new colleagues and interns as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver patient care in a fast‑paced environment.
• Successful completion of orientation programs and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and technology use.
