Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg – Full‑Time Days

About the role

The Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse for its Med‑Surg unit at the Hellertown Neighborhood Hospital. The RN will provide professional nursing care, coordinate patient education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during day shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients, ensuring safety and quality.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to resolve needs and facilitate transitions of care.
• Participate in evidence‑based practice, performance improvement processes, and unit‑specific technical skills.
• Teach, mentor, and precept new staff and interns, delegating tasks based on skill and patient acuity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Pennsylvania RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage patient assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
• Successful completion of unit orientation and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and technology use.
