Registered Nurse – Operating Room (TOSH)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the TOSH Operating Room team. This permanent, onsite position supports surgical patients and collaborates with multidisciplinary staff to ensure high‑quality peri‑operative care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to facilitate efficient operating room workflow.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Participate in emergency response and code situations as needed.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in Arkansas.
• Experience in peri‑operative or surgical nursing preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
