About the role

This full‑time position provides leadership in delivering patient‑centered oncology nursing care on the Kings Hwy unit, following the Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, and Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing.

Key responsibilities

Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care in the oncology unit.
Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for patients and families.
Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Utilizes data and evidence to evaluate outcomes and drive improvements.
Adapts interactions to respect cultural, privacy, and individual patient preferences.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
No prior work experience required.
Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications; strong communication and organizational abilities.
