Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU (Kings Hwy)

About the role

This role provides patient care in the Neuro ICU using the Nursing Process, guided by the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs and assists team members, ensures quality outcomes and supports Ochsner’s nursing philosophy.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively uses the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for patients, families and interdisciplinary groups.
• Communicates, delegates and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilizes data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal patient outcomes.
• Embraces concepts that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale and professional nursing improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior experience required.
• Must have computer skills for data entry and be proficient with Windows‑style applications.
