Registered Nurse – MedSurg PRN Nights

About the role

Join Ochsner’s MedSurg team as a PRN Registered Nurse working night shifts. You will provide high‑quality patient care within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and interdisciplinary partners, adapting communication to diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
• Use data and evidence‑based practice to promote change and improve care quality.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication for clear professional presentation.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities to manage time and resources.
