Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse for its Medical Surgical Telemetry unit at UHealth Tower. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care, supervise allied staff, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on physician orders and patient responses.
• Administer medications, perform patient tests, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Valid Florida RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health‑safety guidelines, and patient‑experience best practices.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Operation of telemetry and other medical equipment
