Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide patient‑family centered care on a Medical‑Surgical Telemetry unit. This full‑time position involves delivering culturally competent care, supervising allied health staff, and ensuring high standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Report changes in condition, vital signs, and diagnostic test results to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning, transition of care, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience.
