Registered Nurse – Med Surg – Night Shift – St. Mary

About the role

This position leads patient care on the Med‑Surg unit at St. Mary during night hours, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists team members while ensuring quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze data to drive change and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.
• Participate in unit and departmental strategic initiatives and uphold the organization’s compliance and privacy programs.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required; new graduates are welcome.
• Preferred certification in a clinical specialty area.
