Registered Nurse II

About the role

The Registered Nurse II provides direct patient care, evaluations, and treatment within the Student Health Services clinic at Texas A&M International University. The role includes supervising staff, managing clinic operations, and supporting public health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, assessments, medication administration, and treatments following professional nursing standards.
• Supervise assigned staff, analyze workload, and ensure skill requirements meet patient care needs.
• Maintain patient records, monitor health needs, and deliver patient education and preventative programs.
• Manage clinic inventory, requisition medical supplies, and oversee equipment.
• Administer immunizations, PPD tests, and perform CLIA‑waived lab tests, including COVID‑19 vaccine and testing coordination.

Required profile

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Texas with CPR certification.
• Minimum two years of RN experience; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in school health or public health settings is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and handle PHI in compliance with HIPAA.

• BLS Instructor certification.
• Vision screener certification.
• Mental health first aid certification.
