Registered Nurse – Gastroenterology & Hepatology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the G100 Gastroenterology and Hepatology unit on the Main Campus. This full‑time day shift position provides direct care to adult patients with complex GI and liver conditions, supporting a high‑quality, patient‑centered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with GI bleeds, pancreatitis, liver failure, and related conditions.
• Implement, monitor, and update individualized patient care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and physician orders.
• Document patient status, communicate changes, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatments, and self‑care.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• At least one year of acute care RN experience (military RN experience considered).

Required skills

• Proficiency in direct patient care and medication administration.
• Critical thinking and ability to respond to rapid response situations.
• Experience with bedside ultrasound preferred.
• Strong communication and patient education abilities.
