Registered Nurse – Cardiac Rehabilitation

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality cardiac rehabilitation care. The RN will apply evidence‑based practice, monitor patients during exercise, and coordinate with the care team to ensure safe, effective treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise cardiac rehab sessions, monitor EKG/ECG, update exercise prescriptions, and document patient responses.
• Assess learning needs, integrate diagnoses into patient education plans, and maintain communication with physicians and the care team.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives, performance‑improvement projects, and evidence‑based practice activities.
• Teach and mentor new staff and interns, delegate tasks based on skill level, and contribute to performance appraisals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year ICU or Coronary Care Unit experience.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary pathophysiology and ability to assess exercise response.
• Ability to work interdependently, multitask, and handle stress.

Required skills

• EKG/ECG monitoring.
• Non‑invasive blood pressure monitoring.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Pennsylvania).
• Cardiac Rehab Professional Certification (CCRP) within 1 year of hire.
• RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Interpretation of arrhythmias.
• Proficiency with PC software programs.
