Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab (RN HOPS)

The Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory (J2‑1) provides expert nursing and technical support for complex non‑surgical cardiac procedures. This role involves caring for adult patients with a wide range of cardiovascular and structural heart conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic cardiac procedures.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, document findings, and notify physicians of abnormal results.
• Conduct telephone triage, manage on‑call rotations, and administer treatments and medications.
• Develop and coordinate care plans, discharge planning, and patient/family education.
• Maintain standards of care, evaluate outcomes, and cover additional nursing duties as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with at least one year of recent RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• Preferred: two years of recent RN experience, cardiac ICU, ICU or ER experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Operation of intra‑aortic balloon pump (IABP), TandemHeart, and Impella devices.
• Proficiency with coronary angiography, hemodynamic studies, and intravascular imaging.
