Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty – On Call – Interventional Radiology

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty on call for the Interventional Radiology department. This full‑time position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient status.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and nurture a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, supporting their acclimation to the clinical setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license (additional certifications as required by the department).
