Registered Nurse 2 – PACU – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks a Registered Nurse 2 for the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to deliver patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning, operate medical equipment safely, and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
