Registered Dietitian – Outpatient Oncology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease & Surgery Institute seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide outpatient oncology nutrition services. The role works 8:00 am‑4:30 pm on the Main Campus, delivering individualized medical nutrition therapy to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to oncology patients.
• Implement and document nutritional care plans, establish follow‑up systems, and adjust diet orders as needed.
• Assess patients for nutritional deficiencies, evaluate fluids/electrolytes, review labs, and communicate findings to physicians.
• Create and revise patient education materials and participate in program development.
• Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
• Current state licensure and active Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
• At least one year of clinical nutrition experience (or completion of a Dietetic Internship).
• Physical ability to navigate the hospital, measure/weight patients, and perform computer entry.
• Compliance with standard precautions and personal protective equipment requirements.
