Regional Research and Learning Coordinator

About the role

The Regional Research and Learning Coordinator will support the PlayMatters 3.0 initiative, a four‑year education program aimed at improving holistic learning outcomes for children in crisis‑affected areas of Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda. Reporting to the PlayMatters regional research team, the coordinator will help design, implement, and disseminate research and learning products that inform evidence‑based education interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate regional research activities across multiple countries, ensuring alignment with PlayMatters objectives.
• Develop research designs, oversee data collection, and manage analysis processes.
• Produce and disseminate learning materials, reports, and evidence briefs for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with national partners, NGOs, and the LEGO Foundation to integrate findings into program implementation.
• Monitor research indicators, track progress, and contribute to the learning agenda.
• Support capacity‑building efforts for local teams on research and learning methodologies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience conducting research and learning activities in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated experience working with education systems in crisis‑affected settings.
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multi‑country teams and with diverse partners.
